Ann Winterton -- racist joke
#1
I don't really want a discussion as to whether she should have been saced or not. However, does anyone actually know the joke she told? The BBC news website alludes to something about throwing a Pakistani bloke off a train, but if repetition of the joke is taboo how can we make up our own minds as to the correctness of the action?
I'd like to see/hear the joke, then decide for myself if I think it's offensive or not.

Yes, I know that bit. I can't work out how the rest of the joke leads up to it though. At the moment, it doesn't sound particularly funny by any stretch of the imagination.

Englishman, Cuban, Pakistani and a japanese bloke were sitting on a train having a conversation. All of a sudden the Cuban throws the huge Havana Cigar he was smoking out the window.
"Why did you do that?" asked the japanese bloke.
"Why not? they are ten a penny in my country" Replies the Cuban.
Thinking about it for a second, the japanese bloke takes his Nikon camera from round his neck and throws it out the window.
"Why did you do that?" asks the Englishman.
"Why not? They are ten a penny in my country"
Thinking about it for a second, the Englishman etc, etc, etc.
I think you can guess the rest. and I'm deffo not gonna put the rest up incase the pinkos on the board want to have a pop.
astraboy.

Not even funny.
I have asked the mods to lock this thread as I don't want it to turn into a discussion on racism. It's served its purpose now.

I don't think it was a 'joke' as such. She isn't a comedian
[Edited to say - judging by the below post, maybe she thinks she is ]

She told diners: "An Englishman, a Cuban, a Japanese man and a Pakistani were all on a train. The Cuban threw a fine Havana cigar out the window. When he was asked why, he replied: 'They are 10 a penny in my country'.
"The Japanese man threw a Nikon camera out of the carriage, adding: 'These are 10 a penny in my country'.
"The Englishman then picked up the Pakistani and threw him out of the train window. When the other travellers asked him to account for his actions, he said:....." You know the puch line
