Lease Extension
The lease on my flat is getting to a point where it is possible to renew the length. I'm getting canvassing letters from solicitors wanting to act on my behalf.
Just thinking about possible re-sale values, its obvious that the longer the lease the better, but can any of you suggest the best course of action.
Am I better off letting one of these solicitors act for me, or would it be cheaper for me to try and negotiate with the landlord direct?
Also, what sort of cost is involved in this? Not sure how you gauge this, but if you need more info please ask as this is a whole new area for me.
Cheers

a very old friend of mine owns a company specialising in lease extensions
he is based and acts mainly in Mayfair (so his fees are quite steep)
but he does have a calculator on his website
