Default Recession - MK2!

So, we are officially in another recession.
What companies will go to the wall this time then?

I just know that the markets will now go into free fall thanks to this mornings news and the £ lose ground on other currencies.

Can't we just carry on as normal without going into panic mode?

OK as I genuinely don’t know without looking it up does the economy normally grow in the first quarter of the year?
I'm guessing no as its traditionally colder, people feeling the effects from xmas, sorting a yearly budget etc.

The media over hyping / causing panic again ?

A recession is defined as two quarters of negative growth.

And the Euro looks very rocky for the medium term so if Europe goes down the pan then that will hit UK hard.

as they say, lets "shed the skin" , dump the EU and go back to currencies where we can travel cheaply to Europe and live like kings on our hols instead of the overpriced Euro.

They've cost us enough me thinks!

But GDP is annual so compared with Q1 2011. The effects you mention are not relevant, especially as the weather has been 'better[1]' this year than last.

Oh dear, the economy didn't grow despite the CON-servative's best efforts to get us to spend £££ on petrol at the end of March LOL
