Newcastle upon Tyne
Hi heading to Newcastle on the 4th May for my stag weekend.I live in N.Ireland so I am looking for any suggestions on places to go.I was there about 6 years ago had a great time,we are staying near the centre off Newcastle so would prefer places within staggering distance, remember that there is a square with a lot of bars around it and a few places near the river buffalo bills I think. There is lots of bars there but if there is that you'd would recommend lap dance, strippers etc NO gay bars please!
We have tickets for Newcastle V Man city which has been changed to the Sunday is there any places people go before or after matches, any suggestions would be great
Thanks Steve

The quayside area is pretty dead nowadays, still a few bars there but the Buffalo's went belly up ages ago.
Good Bigg Market is the classic jaw drop area of drunken Tom Foolery.
Parallel to this is Grey Street which has a few decent bars and the road along the bottom, Mosley Street I think has a few decent ones as well.
Before the match you could go to Shearer's Bar at the Stadium and again nearby are a few more pubs.
Or within 5 minutes walk head to the Haymarket as there's a few pubs there as well.
Strip clubs, there's For Your Eye's Only about 2 minutes from Market Street police station
Think there's a few more but can't remember, have a good time fella

There are two other strip clubs on Grey Street. One just down from Bar Luga (sp) same side of the road, the other just further down towards the quayside. Cannot recommend either as I have not been to them.
There is a really good kebab house heading to the Quayside down Grey Street called the Clay Oven. Not like the usual place, a little more pricey too. Has a big clay oven in the place for all to see and cook things in.

I agree too brilliant night out, been there 4 times on the lash including two stag do's. Never had any trouble and every time we were in a big group of lads, I'm a sucker for a geordie girls accent

You are right, my apologies Lee. I was trying to be funny but failed epically.
I didn't mean to offend anybody but can see how the comments could do exactly that. (And of course the comments aren't true!)
Sorry again and I've edited it

Newcastle nightlife is rubbish compared to what it was like years ago. The big market does get a few people in but it won't get busy till after 10pm. Purdubar is alright if you want the idea of going clubbing and don't want to pay as you can get into via the Blackyboy. They don't like l.arge groups of lads down that way so just spread out when going into them.
The gate is ok and if its raining you will be uder cover plus Tiger Tiger is opposite and its not a bad club plus next to it is sam jack when you can get your mates sitting in a chair while some fit girls pour drinks down your neck .
There is a couple of bars which are cheap to start the night off and usually have more people in them probably due to prices. Wetherspoons near the central station and The Mile castle. Both of those bars do the Jaggerbombs at 4 for a fiver
