Hashtag wtf!
I keep hearing on Radio one about hashtag and have always wonderd WTF it was? I have no intention of joining twitter to find out so can someone explain to me what it is?

I hate twatter, and every time I here someone say the word 'hashtag' I get this all consuming urge to punch them in the face
It's not called hashtag fcukwits
It's called hash (UK), or pound (US), and it already had a function, before you subverted it
I'm not sure, but I think I may be becoming less tolerant as I get older

Well .... it is a hash that tags a particular set of posts (twitters) so probably we can let them off with the 'hashtag' and perhaps get our American friends to understand how to refer to the '#' character properly
