Default Anyone else at home, not working?

What's your reason?

I'm on garden leave and it's really quite relaxing. first time since i started work in 1989.

I have a ton of jobs in the house to do, but i shall probably watch a film, take a walk into town after lunch and then afternoon tea before picking up the mrs* from the train station

* mrs=sole bread winner

My boy had the runs Sunday night so had a day sick from School yesterday, I worked from home* yesterday.

* made 2 telephone calls, answered a couple of emails and then got the steering wheel out and discovered I am still sh*te at GT

It's nice to have an extension to the weekend.

bizarrely, as opposed to at work where it seems normal, sitting on the internet at home all day leaves me listless and extra bored. before long, i'll be picking up my camera and heading out. 3+ hours of walking and taking street photos, then back to process some of them.

So, marcevs72, get yourself a camera and go shoot your world. i'm sure boredom leads to depression.

You could do some voluntary work.

I know what you mean, though. I worked part-time for a few years, and thought I would love it, but I need the discipline of full-time work, otherwise I could faff for England!

OTC and FIC are not as fashionable as they once were! My main client is exiting that business faster than a politician from a brothel during a police raid.

Have you tried Alloy - he might know someone?

I have the pleasure of being salaried and get paid for doing jack sh*t. One day in work last week, one day so far this week(yes I know it's only Tuesday). My working day mainly consists of dropping the kids at school followed by going for a run with the dog. Then it's back home, shower and change, then stick scoff on for the evening when the Mrs gets home from Uni. Next it's tidy up,and then off to town to get the shopping in before picking the kids up from school. Then it's feeding time at the zoo and homework before the boss gets back. Finally take the kids to whatever clubs they have on that night.

Might see cushy, but I am semi retired after 23 years in green skin and I now have a cracking job that allows me to live an easy life.

On the down side,I do spend a lot of time working away but work with a good bunch of blokes and get to play with big toys.

I come into the house for my lunch and have a quick browse on SN ...my work is right on my doorstep (farming).

On Sunday we moved 6800 chickens and have spent Monday and Tuesday mucking out.

Me...although just lately, I seem to have found the Internet boring, and the outside world a bit more fun than it was a year or so ago.

Yeah me. I was supposed to go back to work but I am ill. Was in tons of pain but now not so bad, I'm doing very little physically to try and recover so no working on car, just walk to shops once a day, no walking around miles to view houses now.

I've had the afternoon free. Finished the job I've been on for the last 5 and a half days. Starting another building tomorrow. Then another. Then another. Also have a few other jobs in progress waiting on things being sorted out to continue. Will have a good few days off in between them all no doubt.

Then off to Ibiza or somewhere in July/Aug when I finish the open uni course I'm doing to blow off some steam after all this hard work.

This garden leave business sounds all right. Getting paid to have free time? Wouldn't mind a bit of that!

I've been off since 4th Jan, broke my ankle and leg.

Hate not being able to get about and got loads planned for when I am fixed.

Not looking forward to going back to work but need to make some money, can't burn through savings for ever.
