You will have to check which frequencies its capable of on the specific phone you are ordering.

While the HTC Rezound is a world phone capable of being used on all frequencies

edit -looking on forums it would appear it can be done, but its just not worth the hassle

I'm not really sure what the problems were, I do know she has had it into the Apple shop about four times getting things fixed/adjusted.

A saving like that would make it worth while.
Thanks.

I seem to recall the Verizon iPhone won't work in the UK, I'd advise you to check this out.

Wouldn't buying a UK one tax free in the airport be far simpler?

I tried that with an iPad 2 last year and they were only eight pounds cheaper than Argos, something to do with apple dictating the price they could sell them for. Ended up buying one in Florida and saved £100

I would guess if you buy a handset directly from apple it would work fine, obviously if you buy one from a network it may well be an issue.

If you buy an unlocked one it is fine, a locked iPhone 4 doesn't even have a SIM slot in the US!

You don't save yourself that much money though:

16GB iPhone 4s is $649 to which you have to add tax. It depends on the state, but lets say 8.5%, so that is a total of $704. The exchange rate on most credit cards is around $1.5, let's be generous and say $1.52. Total is £463. Apple UK store = £499.

So SOME money, just not as much as you think.

Buy from the apple shop in the USA and you will have no problems

Dont buy one from the Sprint network as that doesn't use a sim card
