Default Has BBC ditched flash?

Following a post in here linking to bbc news, I was shocked to find the video played on my apple device.

Since when was this change made?

A lot of BBC content is Apple compatible, it is only some of the BBC news vids I found that didn't work, but then I guess you have a better hit rate if you use the BBC News App

I dont have Adobe Flash installed on my laptop and I cant see the BBC News Videos so presume its all on flash as it says "You do not have the correct version of the flash player"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/

Any of the Watch/Listen links in the top right corner, nothing works video wise. Only just realised Youtube works without flash though

Nope it definetly does now! Must have a broader detecter in the script to detect ios as tried two of the videos in the top left box and it worked

Flash will stop being used in the future, HTML 5 is a lot better.

Flash and HTML5 are not comparable technologies. one is a dynamic web development tool that facilitates video, audio and interactivity via a plugin... the other is a set of web standards!

The BBC maybe outputting different formats depending on the platform or they maybe using an MP4 encode that plays in Flash and other players thereby extending across nearly all devices.

If I could be ar5ed I'd stick a trace on and find out, but I can't.
