Default DVD Ripping -> iTunes

I think the internet is so saturated with guides it's just impossible to find a decent, simple guide to do what I want. (I'm pc savvy, but this stuff does my nut in).

I have a vast DVD library, (let's ignore Blu Ray for now).

I want to rip my DVD's to my laptop so I can play them, I also want them in MP4 format, or a format iTunes will like (I know lots of you hate iTunes, I don't).

So I need to unencrypt the DVD, and then reformat the main title (I could not care about any additional menu material) into something that iTunes can recognise.

AVFORUMS.COM is **** and often hides all the decryption software/guides

I have tried DVD Decrypter, and MakeMKV, and Handbrake, and Daemon Tools, all I can get so far is an effing huge .ISO file, that's no good to me.

Surely I am not alone?

I use Handbrake - no ISO files here.

I originally ripped for my PSP and used the preset. Plays on my Mac, iPad and PSP fine. Good enough quality for travel viewing and no lipsync issues etc.

But Handbrake doesn't seem to like my encrypted DVD's. Standards films, tried a few, Handbrake can't get past the encryption stage.

Youll need DVDDecrypter, which can still copy most discs to your fixed disk.

I have not had any problems with Handbrake and cannot remember having a disk rejected because it was encrypted. However on another thread Markus implies that it could be because I have VLC installed.

Either it - it just works for me!

It is due to VLC.

I never knew handbrake required VLC to decrypt, I happen to have that installed on my Mac anyway
