It's not really about the extra power, its more about how it is delivered which is why i'd go for a JDM spec rather than UK model, plus you generally get extra equipment as standard.

I have a Karcher but has a very easy life chucking a bit of water at the car every now and then. If i was gonna do the patio which i'm sure will involve prelonged use then i think my cash would be spent elsewhere. A small plastic part failed on my Dad's years back and it cost him £35 i believe

What you really need to look at is the 'flow rate' in Litres Per Hour (lph) that is quoted for pressure washers - this is a much better way to compare them. It's not purely the speed (pressure) of the water that dictates the cleaning power, it's the amount of water that you're moving at that speed.

Think of it this way: If I throw a stone at a window it'll make a noise and probably bounce off... If I throw a brick at the same speed it'll probably go straight through and smash the window to pieces. The brick has more mass, and hence more "power" at the same speed - and hence a 110bar pressure washer that delivers 600 lph will be better than a 120bar pressure washer that delivers 400 lph.

I've just checked my Karcher washer, as an example, which is 130bar (same as the better one you quote) but 530 lph - as opposed to yours at 440 IIRC.

One thing to note is if limescale is an issue where you live.

Limescale can build up and you can't really get it off aluminium pump heads. We used to use concrete cleaner on brass head pumps but it would turn the aluminium into the consistency of cheese.

I would never get an electric one, as with all garden power tools, petrol is the best way and if i were buying now, this is the one i would get..

Nilfisk are good, mostly metal parts.

I got one made by them, branded for B&Q last year, paid £80 with a FREE patio cleaner.

Aren't those patio cleaners or T racers a load of rubbish though?

Last ten times as long, easier to fix and gets the job done quicker, it is an investment, much like petrol hedge trimmers and mowers vs electric

I have two, a 110bar Wickes one, that looks just like a Karcher, in France, that does what I want it to, and the 120 bar Nilfisk/B&Q here.

The Nilfisk is better made, and easier to use.

I have a hoselok branded one which is great for cleaning the patio, I don't use a specific patio cleaning adapter just the pressure from the gun works for me.

I bought a small, cheap Karcher years ago and it still works, although I have heard that they can be unreliable.

I've now got the K4.600 that is in your link (it was half price in B&Q a couple of years ago) and I have been very pleased with it. The wheels don't rotate properly, so you finish up dragging it along the ground, but other than that it has worked flawlessly.

In particular, the T200 patio cleaner attachment is fantastic, making light work of surfaces with little mess. It is also great for removing all the road salt underneath the car!
