organ donation

One bit of advice. Make sure you have spoken to your next of kin so they know you are on the register and it is something you feel strongly about.
Believe me, if you are ever on the other side of the equation, having to make decisions about a loved one's organs makes an obviously bad time even more difficult. Knowing first hand it is something they felt strongly about at least makes it bearable.

Did mine with the Driving Licence years ago, they can take what they want bar my eyes.
Same as my bro and sis, so easy for us to remember.
In Wales I think they on about changing it to and opt out scheme, they will still ask next of kin, but its presumed to be yes unless you specifically state otherwise. Think its a good idea tbh, as its not gonna be much use to me once I`ve snuffed it.
But as for my eyes, you can live without eyes, you can`t without a heart.

Think that's a good scheme, it should be brought in everywhere.
I'm the same, I've opted out on my eyes but then they dont work for me, not much hope for anyone else I'm hoping to wear all mine out through age and enjoying myself mind you

Its not life threatening if you lose your eyesight, where as a heart will make the difference between life and death. Surely they could grow a lens in a dish??

Might be because, if any loved ones come to see you once you have popped it. If the eyes are removed, it kinda looks odd on the corpse. They have not perfected the eyes, when you are asleep. I could be wrong, but have heard of this. Looks sunken rather than asleep, if you get my meaning. When I saw my Dad, I wanted him to look asleep, not dead. Sorry if this does not make sense. He did look asleep, even though he donated (not his eyes, though)

See, I think thats selfish and thats from the point of view of losing a loved one and having a loved one blind.
I think for the sake of seeing (pardon the pun) someone one last time, compared to giving someone the gift of sight .. isn't even something I would consider not doing.

Seriously, I won't be possessive about my eyes whilst resting lifeless in a coffin or a funeral pyre. l will have my loved ones pre- and well-informed about my plans of donating anything usable from my body to anyone needy, and I bet they'll respect my good plans. The only thing they may not agree to donate could be my brain. That's to save this world from further disaster.

"I am such a super dooper organ donor that I am jealous of mezelf!"
Will make a good tattoo.
Mr. Understanding can also have one, if he likes. Tattoos don't discriminate between a Mister or a Miss. Well, I have never heard of it, anyway

I put on my driving licence form to donate anything when im gone, doubt they will want my eyes though as I've had cataract surgery on both eyes. They work brilliantly for me now but can't see anyone else wanting them.
