Default Apple TV arriving soon.

Anyone going to take the plunge? Perfect timing for me, I last bought a TV when the XBox 360 came out and it's served me well. Hopefully it lasts until Q3 when I predict this game changer will arrive.

Apple will of course be redefining the way we view television, rumours so far are 42", Siri Voice control and Gestures via front facing camera. I'm sure there'll be a whole lot more innovation included, but we'll have to wait and see.

At last an Apple product that the Mods can't move to Computer Related

It's not likely only because I bought a new tv last year, and I suspect it will come via a terrestrial arial which I don't have.

You have to realise that what makes Apple different from the pack is they're not only brilliant at producing hardware they're brilliant at producing software as well.

There's no doubt it will be something special, but I am tied in with current new-ish tvs, PS3 media and Virgin.

It'll be interesting. I quite like the Apple TV 2 product. But it'll be expensive and I can't imagine what they will offer that will be a 'game changer'.

Does your TV give you the correct answer when you ask it the meaning of life?

If past form is anything to go by, it'll look pretty enough when it's switched off, but it'll only receive a handful of channels and none of them will be ****

In your case, the TV would need to tell you to get a ****ing life

It will replay the great life I lead. Going by your comment I doubt you'll be able to afford one.

And you'll still be waiting until Q2 2013 for it to 'boot up' then in Q3 it'll be snarled up with viruses.

Well you don't need for Apple TV for that, just put a DVD/BluRay of Narnia on.

Well it won't be made by apple, probably a Samsung screen (like the iPad 3 will have ) so no real innovation, and probably over priced in an already saturated market, not a good move either as most people (including apple owners) will already have a specific brand of tv they prefer.

The innovation won't be the screen but more likely the user interface

No hope for apple then
You need to catch up on the news a little Jack, just look who Samsung have been buying of late then you will see the big boys in this industry, and apple don't produce their own screens, bit of a killer if you want to produce tv's

Once again your arguments are a bit silly. Do you believe Samsung produce every component they use?

It'll be a great product no doubt about it, my Samsung TV is great too, don't know why you have to be so negative about something no one really knows anything about.

It's already been predicted that Microsoft are going to start making televisions as somewhere down the line, the Xbox and Playstation will be merged with the television offered by it's respective manufacturer.

That's great news, convergence is the way forward. I'll have my Apple TV for general entertainment and an Xbox TV in the games room.
