Mine's just a simple plastic jobbie. It is nice and thin and doesn't add bulk.

I am looking for one of these for my wife and can't believe the price of them!
At least £20 for a bit of silicon or plastic!
Just because they are for iPhones.

Have a look at the otterbox range-either the defender or commuter...

I'm looking for something too. I've got a griffin one but it marks the back of the phone, tiny bits of dirt get behind there somehow. I want one that's soft inside but it's impossible to find something as you'd be there all year trolling through eBay!
I can't see those CDF ones being very kind to the phone, even rubber and plastic marks the phone after a while. A metal one bolted on with an interference fit is going to destroy it IMO.

Why not put a protector film on the back as well as the front THEN put it into a case?
These aren't too bad for the money: http://www.more-thing.com/en/iphone/iphone-4s.html. Tried the Armor one (http://www.more-thing.com/en/iphone/...iphone-4s.html) which seems OK.
Can get them via Amazon.

I have a case mate toughie which cost £25, the otter box ones are excellent for protection too, people who are saying apple cases are expensive, a decent case is the same price for any phone, brnd is irrelevant. You can get cheap silicone cases for the iPhone for 99p if you want them.
Ive had case mate toughie's for my htc desire hd, Samsung galaxy s2 and now my iphone4 the case was same cost every time, it is an excellent case for protection though.

the leather ones I make of course!
I dont use a case, gets on my **** every time you want to use the phone. I just put a screen protector on the front and away I go.

I find cases wreck them, my iPhone 4 from release day had a case.
Not a cheap one either, marked the metal band around the side , little marks on the back that won't go.
My 4s doesn't have one and it's fine

I'm using a knomo leather case from apple at the moment with black and blue trim
Bit of quality and padded too and quite a tight fit for the 4s
My last apple case on my 3GS lasted for two years and still going strong
Not a fan of the bumpers or hard cases as it spoils the appearance of the iPhone
Quite like the bookcase one ,nearly bought one although reviews said the camera wasn't as easy to use with it ,but it's a nice bit of kit and save carrying a wallet everywhere with you as well as the iPhone
