As long as you don't pose a risk to others or yourself then I don't see why not

What do you do on the farm, are you working large machinery? Anything which could be dangerous?
Or are you shovelling cow $hit and nothing more?

Sorry to be blunt but they will be important factors

The other thing will be assuming you are not the farm owner then the owner will have some sort of insurance covering employees against injury on his farm, the insurance in place may not cover you with your injury

I do alsorts, as I said its a large farm so I could spend the next few weeks painting or small repair jobs, wouldn't have to operate any machinery or a shovel.

Yeah that would be a sensible thing to try first.

As long as your (temporary) disability doesn't pose a safety threat to you or anyone else I see no reason why you can't continue ue to work. Obviously you boss has to be willing to find you something suitable for a one handed person.

Hope it works out for you

Be VERY careful mate.

my lad broke the scaphoid bone in his thumb
The local hospital, however, said it WASN'T broken after looking at X-Rays.

he went back to work as a plater on the local works, they rang him two days later it WAS broken after all.

Result: SIX weeks in a heavy cast instead of two in a light one.

But now it hasn't healed properly, he's had to go to a specialist, have a bone graft, and is now off work, ORDERED OFF, for EIGHT weeks

I think providing you are doing something like painting which would only require you to stand up not climb anything then you would probably be ok anything more than light duties then no.

Surely you only have to do the kind of job that is safe to do with a damaged hand. I'm sure you can work all that out for yourself!

Well went into work today the gaffer was fine and I spend most of the day propping a brush up. Until the doctor says I cant work I will carry on, being careful I dont damage it further.
Yes it is my wanking hand, hopefully the wife will be giving sympathy blowies.
