Just don't go mad in it, drive within you're limits then you will have no problems.

I'd go for it I'm sure he is fully aware of the risks, but I would not drive at 100 percent I'd just hold back a bit & try not to bin it.

Dont suppose its seperately insured for the track day? Or maybe you can pay for a policy to cover this on the day.

It is insured for the trackday.
Its just i dont want to hurt his baby.
But being a passenger all day would take some self control.

Just remember.
When it's your turn. whined down the window while revving the nuts off it, and shout to your boss "Watch this". Then immediately wheel spin out of the pits.

Well without doubt you are lucky to have a boss who will do that for you.
If you do drive his car than I suggest that you do so fully aware of one's responsibilities to someone who has been so generous to you, and make sure that you take very good care of his car even though it means you can't drive it to its limits.
You could always imagine yourself in his place lending your car to someone and how you would expect them to drive.
When it comes to track etiquette, just use your nous!. you are not in a racing team so just don't try driving anyone off the track!

Wise words les.
Totally agree.
I am very lucky in this job in that i have 24hr access to the workshop and mot bay to do my own work,in return i have done a lot of work out of hrs to improve the workplace and make it a better enviroment for tecs and customers alike.
Joking aside i would never take advantage of his offer by abusing the trust he has put in me.
When the scooby is finished i will be returning the favour and with a target build of around 450 he should find it quick enough lol.

Why not be sensible and drive it within your limits?

If you feel you won't be able to 'control the red mist' then i'm glad i'm not out on track with you.

It's a track day, not a race.

I have not once mentioned racing!
I raced for 6 yrs
1000cc rh sidecars running methanol.
Red mist may have been wrong expression. in the zone may be more suitable.
Where you are trying to get it all right and smooth.
Trackdays are different arent they

Wouldn't worry too much, after he's had the bill to replace a set of tyres and brakes, a scuffed bumper or wing won't seem too bad

Sounds like a good job alright. Yes I am sure you won't push it too far anyway.

I used to have a ZX12r and that was no slouch. Had a lot of fun on that in the middle of the night when everyone else was in bed. Very stable bike at very high speed too.

Have to stick with a couple of classics now, but they are good to ride too.

Enjoy the track day, its usually an eye opener when you first try it,. but you will love it.

The 450 sounds good too, never reached anything like mine with mine.

i really like the 12 its busa fast but handles too.
I used to look after one for a guy and he loved it.
The spec d is suffering the hg problems so i am saving up for alan jeffrey to build a fully forged engine first then when i can afford it i will start stage 2 with sc46. front mount etc
i am a mechanic myself but regardless of what people say it takes a company like engine tuner to put a proper engine together imho.
I will let you all know how the track day went
cheers for all the input

Stevie
