A friend of mine got pretty unlucky this morning and had a smash in his first car, K plate 1.3 Escort. It's a bit of a shed anyway, done 115k miles and got plenty of wear to proove it, but it was his only transport!
He only paid £700 for it, and now it's got pretty bad damage to the rear left wing, and the rear right wing. (He turned right into a junction when he shouldn't have, car coming the other way hit one side, and sent him into a car waiting to come out of the junction). He's getting a quote for repairs tomorrow, but I doubt it's going to be worth it. Only had 3rd party insurance.

Anyway, my question is, what is he best to do with the car now? What would a breakers be likely to give for it? Any other options that people can think of?

Same down here as well. I had to pay £10 to get a shed off a Vauxhall scrapped, although it might be worth advertising it in the free local papers to get some money for any parts left over...

If you were near leeds i would help you show it 10tons of hydraulic ram... alternatively what condition is the engine in and how much for it... assuming it is 1.4 single point inj... you deliver
