Default How do you unlock iphone to use on any network

As above, i'm about to get an iphone in croatia on the vodafone network but it's locked to this network here, so i won't be able to just put a uk sim in it and have it work, im also off to india in a few months and want to use a local sim there so was wondering if there was a way of getting it unlocked to be able to use it anywhere.

Cheers in advance.

vodafone may unlock it for free? I am on o2 and they unlocked mine (using the o2 website) only took them about 2 hours.

Two options really, you can either speak to Vodafone in Croatia about unlocking it, or Vodafone in the uk but I suspect as you are buying it in Croatia you may have more luck there.

Otherwise you will have to look at jail breaking it, I've never done that myself but there are threads in the computer related section about it

I've just done this to my Vodafone iPhone 4.

You need to go direct to Vodafone, so I guess for you Vodafone Croatia, and fill in an online form. They will they contact Apple, and unlock it for you. To 'finish' the unlock you need to put a different sim card in (none voda) and go in to itunes.

There is no other official way of doing it......so Jail breaking may be easier for you?

As chrisdickosaid, Vodafone unlock your phone for free... I also did this for my old iPhone 3G before I sold it... Just fill in the online application form and within a few days you will recieve a txt and or email confirming the handset has been unlocked...
