Who's your role model?
Can be anyone past or present, natural or supernatural, historical or fictitious. It could be a character from a cartoon or play or book, a sportsperson, a celebrity, you, a work colleague, politician or parent - it doesn't matter so long as you describe the ideal to which you aspire.

Probably my Papa (grandad to you Englanders). I seem to have developed almost every interest he had as well. I wish I could have a conversation with him now... there are so many things I would want to ask. But I can remember being 14 and trying to get away from him when he was going into an in-depth explanation of how VTEC worked.
He wanted to know everything about everything. Just small things like saying how everyone was entitled to an opinion (if I didn't agree with what someone said), or how he didn't see the sense in putting your full beams on to blind someone who hadn't dipped theirs - "because then there will be two blind men driving towards each-other" - are a few examples of his gems of common sense and levelheadedness.
He was such a rational thinker and a gentleman, who always seemed more interested in other people's happiness than his own. He was happy in his retirement just watching the world go by, as he was curious about everything. When he had cancer, and knew he only had weeks to live, he would lie in bed during the night in total discomfort and what must have felt like boiling heat because my gran would 'get a draft on her neck' from any open window.
That's about as close to a role model as I have anyway

But my role model is our very own Bigarf, and decent, honest bloke who is a complete fast car nut.
I wish I were as happy, in the face of adversity, and as fast as he is...
