Was there an external influence in your acceptance of Christianity, as in from other people?
I apologise for the cross examination but I'm puzzled as to how someone fastidiously analytical, and who deals with absolute logic and reasoned thinking, can accept something based on supposition and conjecture. Was it a resignation to gain some inner peace?
There's a certain ineffability at play regarding the answer to a number of your questions, Maz. To borrow from Ludwig Wittgenstein, "Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent." Nonetheless, and simply put, I felt God's calling and had a choice: I could either turn to Him or runaway - I chose the former. I'm simply not gifted enough to adequately express that experience so I'll give you this link to my favourite poem:

If you want to break your questions down into chunks I can manage, I'll do my best to answer them as clearly as possible.

I can totally relate to this.
I'm glad my dad was the way he was with me and my brother, it's taught me to be the complete opposite in the way I'm bringing my children up.
My children and me are like best mates, unlike dad and me.

Why do you bother with him? He is a copy and paste merchant that thinks that means he is intelligent.

A point well made.
