Ali: you seem to be a mine of info on stuff elctrical.
Do you know what the markings on the bases of auto halogen bulbs mean?

A friend has bought some H4 bulbs from e-bay, sold as Bosch, but base marked T 520 LF

So far I've found off the Osram site that they SHOULD be marked to show the manufacturer, and a few other things.

No way I can get a letter "T" to equate to "Bosch" or anywhere in Germany, the testing centre there being at Flensburg.

So......any idea?

Are they cheapo copies?

That's what we think, but for the life of me I cannot find a site that offers any info on what the markings mean. And I've tried, on and off, all day

Sorry, not a clue.

All I know is the standard product code for a H4 bulb is usually 472 and that is with some preceeding letters which are who makes it. Bosch are usually BLB. so a standard Bosch H4 is BLB472, like wise a Lucas h4 is LLB472, Hella is HB472 and so on. Fancy versions may have some extra letters and numbers though.

Osram and Philips are ****-eyed, all their bulb numbers don't correlate/cross-ref in the same way to anything other manufacturers make
