anyone tried to barter on price at Argos??
As above,I'm in the market for a new laptop and I've been to pc world, currys etc and they were happy to offer money off or throw in software etc but Argos are pretty competitive on price and was wondering if it's worth speaking to the manager?? After all if you don't ask you don't get!
Worth asking or not????

Dunno if they price match. Best option is prolly finding the one you want cheap online, then trying to talk a currys/PC world (same thing init) into doing a pricematch but throwing in some extras like a case etc, thats my 50P.
As an alternative the Dell outlet has some amazing prices usually on items - depends whether you like Dell or not.
You sure you want a Laptop? I mean everyone is going tablets PCs!

Better off going Comet, u get 14 days to find product cheaper (Argos, Currys, PC World and John Lewis)
So far i've had 130 quid off em as Argos keep dropping the online price!
Now if i had of bought from Argos orginally i would be 130 out of pocket as they dont do price match or haggle!
(but there are many ways to fiddle Argos )

They are not that kind of company -- it is even difficult to find someone in charge in a particular store.
Having said that, I think they do what they do very well. First online with order and collect etc...

Find the best price you can, be it on-line or in-store then go to PC world and haggle there. You WILL get a better deal. It may take you to walk off before you get it........
We did it with our iMac. The salesman said NO discount was available on apple products. I tried but he wouldn't budge. I said "ok, thanks anyway" and went to walk off. He then said "let me speak to my manager" which he did! I got nearly £100 off (beating apples website with my employee discount!) and microsoft word for mac 1/2 price
