BlackBerry Tablet £149
Bread dipping time?
Im firmly in love with my iPad2 but I know some of you like a fringe bit of hardware
You can get a playbook for £149 today if you buy through Quidco and Currys*
Currys Quidco link
I seem to recall these being a pretty decent tablet being able to run flash etc, not sure how restrictive BB tablet OS is though
*cashback of £100 is for today only

The tablet is a bit rubbish. It MAY get better next year when they release a new version of the operating system.
In order to get mail, you need to tether it to a Blackberry (a very, very stupid idea).

I'll be interested to see what the prices fall to post xmas. Part of me is wondering if we will see a fire sale ala HP's tablet.

RIM screwed up good and proper and launched without being ready, no doubt there. But I still prefer its size and function over the ipad.

I think we can pretty much say that it's a flop. Imagine having your iPad at work, then being told you had to carry a Playbook. How much would that suck!

typing this from my £150 Playbook!
was waiting for the Kindle Fire but initial reviews for that aren't great either unless somebody jailbreaks it.
syncing to my phone for email is easy and lots of features that the Fire doesn't have like camera and playback of my own video files which look stunning.
obviously a few gaps in the app store but this should be fixed once the android market comes on line next year.
my wife has an iPad which is very good but no way I could justify spending another £400.
the Playbook is perfect for my requirements and so much better than the cheap android tablets, remember the hardware is almost identical to the iPad.
for £150 i think it's a bargain! flame on.......
edited to say that the wireless file transfer between pc and playbook is excellent, so much better than iTunes!

Good for you mate, glad you were not blinded by negativity.
Cant wait for OS 2 which will introduce some much needed features.
As for transfer between pb and pc, I love being able to put films of any format on without fuss.
I love the spec and form, but looking forwards to OS2 for Android market too lol
