Default Who would want this?

Having a clear out and reorganisation at home, going to flog a few things on EBAY pre Christmas, clear some space and so on.

I have a huge pile of cables and wires, power leads, adaptors, Computer leads, TV, video, and audio leads.

Most if not all of them work absolutely fine, but being a fan of new technology a lot of these are just old and out of date.

I don't just want to put them in the bin, happy to stick them in recycling, if all else fails, no charity shop or car boot would want them (I imagine), but is there anyone out there who can make use of these?

TIA

Asif

Stick them on ebay, someone will buy them

All sorts of crap that five years ago I would have just binned now goes on there first, it never ceases to amaze me what people will pay for my junk

Charity shops unlikley to take it for H&S reasons.

Most are not allowed to sell anything remotely electrical.

Ebay would be my answer.

We have charity shops round here who get all electrical equipment checked by a competent engineer. Certainly not a barrier anyway.

Did you know that most charity shops only give a tiny percentage of profits to charity? I can't remember the minimum but i'm sure most donate less than 20%.

Don't be fooled, most charity shops are lucrative businesses.

Give it away to an art college, and see if some enterprising student can turn it into a prize-winning 'installation', or whatever it is they call them.

Failing that www.freecycle.org, or get a few pics up and someone here might make you an offer for it.

Mobile phone chargers....I have shed loads. If anyone has an idea of what I can do with them let me know.

All the phones went off to the recyclers for a tidy few quid. Now I'm lumbered with these. I must have about eight 'fast port' style Sony-Ericsson chargers and USB leads lying around. And equal amount of Nokias (various size round connectors)

EBAY is a definite for the more valuable stuff, but that includes a Bosch washing machine, Siemens dish washer, some computers, PDA's, other IT stuff, assorted tech, 4 mobile phones, Scalextrix, Stokke baby stuff, etc etc.

All worth a few quid and worth the effort.

A few exhaust bits, a turbo, some other car bits, will all go on here.

The cables and wires, some unwanted toys and gifts (new and unopened), some old (collectible?) magazines, FHM, Loaded, Viz, two old cupboards.

I don't see them as worth the effort of listing on EBAY. I thought about a car boot sale, but not enough quantity of stuff to justify the time and expense, don't want to simply bin them, the Freecycle idea is a good one though

Worst case, piling things up outside the house usually ensures that they disappear VERY quickly.

Thanks all.

Ah. If you are referring to say high quality speaker cable, I have lots of that, but that is being gainfully employed and not being thrown out.

The rest is more Av as opposed to just sound, I think.

Too much hassle with selling stuff on ebay these days, unless its worth a bit of money.

Fire it down the charity shop and have done with it. It will get it out of the way a lot faster.

Do you have any positive proof and real figures to enable you to make such an accusation?
