Default Android to get music store

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15766706

So Android owners can thank Steve once again for another copied idea.

The pioneering iTunes music store was launched way back in 2003 when the music industry was deeply against this idea. Apple also initiated a shift into selling DRM-free music (thanks again Steve)

I'm sure vinyl had the same idea before - digital rights free and the paradigm where you could purchase a single track?

Vinyl is analogue and I seem to recall vinyl singles having two tracks

No, quite a few attempts before the success of iTunes, some even before 2000

Competition is good.

I wonder if Apple will try and sue Google once the pie gets a bit smaller for Itunes?

It's well known that the majority of music Pirates buy Android devices, they're basically Pirate ships out of the box. Google play a clever game though, they might be able to wring out a piece of eight or two.

I've downloaded it, it's a hoot, seems to be useful for my daughters homework.

Android users, let's be sirious here for a moment. IRIS is a lot like the parrot software that came free with sound cards 20 years ago, in fact it could be a direct copy. Do not believe the hype, IRIS is a joke piece of software, written in 8 hours for amusement. Don't look a fool by making a direct comparison with Siri. Just like all the other Apple features in two years time you'll be able to have the same, have patience.

Anyhow enjoy your store, try to spend some money in it.
