And how many billions is spent tracking them down, prosecuting them and letting them out to disappear on bail or housing them in jail etc.? 
I love the idea of welfare for the needy, but when we have such an overly complex departmentalised system that appears to be operated by people who have little real-world concern (or common sense) of the consequences they have by allowing through claims that could be dubious and not to personally follow it up or be held responsible for it (instead leaving it for someone else to 'look at' ). I often feel its a case that some front line staff that approve benefit payouts to cheats are not concerned because they still get paid their wages regardless - as long as all the correct boxes are ticked. Tell me if I am wrong, but only do so if you tell me why staff can't in turn 'work' the system to work in favour of the honest, like the cheats that 'work' the system to their own favour.

When so many of the politicians, the police and the media are as bent as a nine dollar bill it's no surprise that so many of the population think nothing of stealing from the system!
Still I am sure our 'new' government are on the case LOL!

The last few years has shown us how bent the politicians actually are. Not just a few, but the majority. They can blame on the rules that were in place at the time, but that is just what most of the benifit cheats are doing.....playing the system.
