I just don't understand
But anyway...
The poll is useless, because most people do not think either entirely yes or entirely no. I have some Ikea bits from years back and they're ok, they do the job. Would i go there today? No. They suit a certain market and a certain price-point.

It's one of my most favourite places to be
Furniture is good, even some if the cheap stuff is ok. Kitted out my daughter's room last year and it's nice. We buy lots of things there, I use the textile dept for my bags and the phone covers I make, and the restaurant is great, especially as kids eat for practically free. Shame I have to travel to Coventry or Milton Keynes as Northampton turned down the planning application....

I like it but our nearest one is about ninety minutes away so it's got the novelty factor for me.
I bought a wardrobe there a few years ago and kitted the inside out with a pull-out shoe rack, sliding trays and baskets etc. I think it's great, never found anything similar for the same sort of price point in other shops.
I wouldn't want IKEA furniture all over the house but what I have bought I've been really pleased with.

Our nearest is Cardiff so 2 hours away. We go pretty much every time we are in Cardiff.
It used to be very cheap but not bad quality - we have some excellent sturdy bookcases that were £75 each but now they are closer to £200. There are other book cases that look similar and a lower price but the quality is clearly lower. We used to get loads of stuff from there and then have to fit it all in the car plus a small baby.
We also buy stuff for my wifes hair salon from Ikea. We always buy a cuddly toy for our daughter too.
I know what folk mean about getting lost in there. It is deliberate obviously but no word of a lie, my mother actually had a bit of a panic attack trying to get out and because she didn't realise what the score was she honestly thought she was losing it a bit - I mean, whats wrong with you if you can't find the door to a department store?? It genuinely scared her.
The Ikea chairs (the famous ones) are surprisingly good for love making.

Not total crap but some of their stuff really isn't worth it. I'm not a massive fan of going there and it's better when it's quiet i.e. evenings or weekdays during term time but some of their stuff is really good. As mentioned the PAX wardrobes really are great, we have two doubles and a single in our spare room all kitted out with baskets, rails, shelves, etc. Excellent use of space and the oak doors go well with the rest of the stuff in our house. Very good value too.
Wish it were around when I was a student and when I first moved into an unfurnished rent. Could have got fully kitted out for only a few £
Missus often bribes me to go there with the promise of a meatball lunch.

Their cheap stuff really is pants. The more expensive stuff is ok. Their designs are good and they have some clever idea's.
Shopping there is my idea of hell though as I get annoyed with the "General Public" at the best of times. But, In Ikea.............They are HELL!

I blame my poor literacy on the fact it was prior to my first cup of tea.
I'll hang my head in shame.

I find it's great for what it is, most of my children's bedroom furniture is from there. I find compared to other products of a similar price from say Argos, they are much better. The build quality is better, and easier to assemble.
I have a leather corner sofa from there, it was a little more than the likes of high street stores, but but has a 10 guarantee, and to be honest we will probably have a new one well before it's worn out. The two seater is still as new as we tend to all lounge on the corner suite.

How do you find the sofa?
Ikea sofas have always struck me as being not so great - although our current seating is ala Argos and quite frankly its sh1te.
Nice flooring too - having something similar in the hallway after christmas.

We are not tidy freaks, and my house has two children in it, and despite it being 3 years old it doesn't have a mark on it.
The seats themselves are quite deep which means it's very comfortable to relax on.
