The Future State of Welfare BBC2
I'm watching this and getting quite peed off. WTF have isn't this system being reformed? Jobshy layabouts sitting around their laminated floored, plasma festooned paid for houses moan and gripe about not getting enough benefits. One mangey bint with 7 kids was moaning on about the minimum wage not being enough. These ***** need a good kick up their ****. I'd have a maximum of 2 years on benefits in a LIFETIME only after you've paid your national insurance for at least 5 years.

It needs shaking up, that's for sure.
The uncaring Tories are the ones to do it, if anyone is!
Work for your benefits is what I would advocate ..... community work, sweep the streets, clear the elderlies gardens ... etc.

..and they need to sort out the benefit tourists from the continent too; the money they take does not go back into our economy but sent back to whatever country they came from.

Stop benefits and you'll see Wayne and Tracey fall over themselves getting minimum wage cleaning jobs and perhaps not having 7 kids.

They were lifting children out of poverty, they were buikding schools, hospitals and looking after the old.
There was money when NL were doing it .... we are in a complete Tory mess now so need cuts to see us through.

Yes and because he likes to live in islington he is more of a drain than a unemployed family on the outskirts of London. Heres a free tip for Edwardo. Learn some English and maybe you can manage to find a job in Mechanical Engineering.
If the government paid me £2400 a month housing benefit here. I'd jack my job in and work for £3 an hour and could live in a 5 bedroom house with swimming pool.

For us in work complaining what happens if we find ourselves unemployed and no benefit system to help us. There is an issue being able to judge those who deserve and those that dont. Those that dont and have squad of kids, what do you do with them?

I really shouldn't watch programmes like this because they just remind me where half my hard earned goes.
The pleb who said he wasn't prepared to work because he wanted to spend time with his kids instead! The the rest of us go to work and don't see our kids so he can, and a great example he'll be to his kids as well!
The presenter really did get to the underlying issue though and that is the UK sense of 'entitlement'. People here have it ingrained in them that they are entitled to a house and money, it is their birthright.
This needs to be stopped, if (a big if) IDS can sort this problem out, in my opinion he will go down as the most important and progressive UK politician of recent times.
