Apple lawyers admit "Our products are lame"

lol, no where does he use the word lame, El Reg being bias once again.
It is true that people become locked into an ecosystem, if you have bought a lot of Android apps, your next product will be an Android device.
Exactly the same can be said for iOS, users become locked in.

We'll yeah, in fact any Android device is cheaper than the Apple equivalent.
Upgraded to a Galaxy S2 recently which I think is fair to make a realistic comparison to the iPhone4. Top of the range Android phone vs. last generation Apple offering, admittedly the 4S will trounce it but I couldn't justify the cost of one of those.
I'm firmly bought into Android now. That said my Dad has got an iPad2 so looking forward to seeing what the can do when I see him in a few weeks, may get jealous, you never know

The article mainly points out that if someone buys an Android tablet then they will not buy an ipad. Well of course not, who can afford to have both?

As far as iOS vs Android goes - people should just buy the one they like the most and stop moaning about how the other is the work of Satan and the ruination of mankind... just don't buy a BlackBerry though, they really are sh**!

This is down to The Register trolling with a lame article...
If that statement sounds a little strong, here’s what Apple’s lead barrister, Stephen Burley, said: "Once the Galaxy Tab goes to a purchaser who invests and purchases apps on the Galaxy Tab, we have lost them forever in relation to apps and interactivity because they will then be Android people."

i dont need some vulture to tell me what I already knew, Apple tech is out-dated, the software, was "once" - new, now it isnt.
The apple argument was valid 2 years ago, but now it isnt. Apple have stood around far too long.
My mate was "showing off" his apple4 OS improvements. He was soooo chuffed theyve configured the phone so you can use actual "buttons" to take a photograph instead of relying on the touch-screen.
My Nokia Xpress 5530 has fully configurable buttons and is 3 years old. Whooppee **** for apple.
I wonder what "feature" will be next... Volume control ?
I know what you can do with your Apples....

Instead of slagging off apple's buttons, it'd be more constructive to compare lots of things you value in a phone's tech and its software.
I'm sure that survey would point you firmly away from apple, but for lots of people apple would fit their needs quite nicely.
I wonder who is over compensating more - pro apple or anti apple s'netters?!

It is a bit of a "lame" article. 90% of people that try an Android device first will be "Android" people, but the same can be said for iOS users. It is a bit of a crap argument to make from their barrister though. Saying if they bought Samsung's product, they won't buy Apple's. Erm, that's just competition. Like BMW complaining that someone has bought a Mercedes so it's taking sales from them. Just sounds like Apple spitting their dummy out.

I have an iPod in the family. Its a good device. The only problem is once you put music on it. You have difficulties in then transferring it to another non apple product. You don't have that problem with android. Really the applications, I have had over 70 some I have paid for but most are free. I have no problem moving to another platform because my outlay has been minimal. The main difference between android and apple is its versatility android gives you, also android users don't shovel the message down your throat
