Me and the good woman are tying the knot next year up in the Lakes - We've hired the full hotel out, which mean's they basically shut the doors and we can do whatever we want within reason! Now, I had my heart set on using one of the rooms as a casino, but when I came to book it all yesterday I was told "it's just a fun thing, with play money" Having looked in to this further, it would seem this is the case with mobile casino companies across the board - gutted! Gonna have to sack this, as nobody I know will even bother using it. So, I've now got an empty room, and down on entertainment - any idea's what I can do?? We've already got a band sorted out, but I just wanted to use this room for a little more entertainment - Any idea's would be great folks....

 

Of course it is. Casinos need to be carefully licensed so you can't just install one whereever.

Why not have a prize for the 'winner' on the night? Give everyone a pretend £100 and see who can turn it into the biggest profit.

Assuming all your mates are that into gambling, smoe would surely like the idea of a bit of fun with no risk of losing the house if they get hammered?

What's wrong with a casino with "play" money?

No-one I know would be daft enough to play in a casino with real money - especially at a wedding - but a huge amount of fun can be had in a 'proper' casino with play money (I attended one of these on Monday night and it was very well done).

Whether it's real or play money, you still bet with chips and have the full experience - without the pain of losing large amounts of cash. If there's a prize (bottle of champagne for example) for the highest winner of the night then you can retain that competitive spirit (rather than just chucking play money around without risk or reward).

We had a casino, thought it would not be used... was mental, people went mad for it. At one point there must have been 100 out of the 200 guests stood around the tables.

 

By the way, the company we used were very good and were based not far from the Lakes...

 

Dunno, just don't like the idea of play money to be honest - just a bit gutted really as it was going to be a bit of a suprise for everyone - and yes, most of my mates like to gamble, just don't think it will have the same buzz using fake money.

 

Stupid party game between the bride and groom.

1) Fill half a dozen balloons with money.
2) Put boxing gloves on the groom.
3) Put scuba diving flippers on the bride.
4) Get a piggy bank.

Between the bride and groom they have to extract the money from the balloons and get it in the piggy bank. The groom can only use his hands and the bride can only use her feet. If they work together they can get all the money out of the balloons and into the piggy bank fairly easily and with some entertainment.

However you need to place the balloons and the piggy bank atleast 10 feet apart.

People waste some serious cash on their weddings, face facts anybody who goes to a wedding is primarily there for a free dinner and as much free booze as they can get. At least that's what I aim to get out of other peoples weddings.

At ours we had a hall, a band, big buffet, and gallons of beer, wine, cider, etc. (was still drinking it 6 months later!). We'd sneaked off to the registry office earlier in the day to do the actual deed. Everyone who came commented on what a great party it was. Cost less than £4k to put it on

 

Ceilidh band and dancing. Always good to break the ice and gets people involved rather than standing around. I've seen a brilliant French entertainment troupe with musicians and dancing girls recently - though at Bar Mitzvahs not weddings. If you need a photographer.
