Chargers aaaagh..........
No not the fun ones made by Dodge but the bloody things that we all have to charge a myriad of small items from phones through to power tools and kids stuff.......
Now I am not the best organised person in the world and have recently moved house and changed offices. I am now in the process of matching up a box of chargers with the stuff they go with. Driving me mad. My own fault, as every time I get something new I tell myself to stick a label on the plug saying what it's for but never actually get around to it. Their saving grace is that they mostly have a unique size which will only plug into what they are intended for but I am going to get this wrong one day and blow something up. I look in vain at the charger hoping it will say "For Nokia Phone" or whatever but they never do
It just seems to get worse - is there any hope?

A few years ago, I lost the charger of my fantastic I-River IHP140. My work colleague was confident he had one that would suit it and fried the life of the thing. Never have forgiven him......!

Look at the voltage output of the charger-it should be written on it, and then check the item's paperwork to see what voltage it operates on, and then you can match the charger to the item.
You can also check the voltages of the batteries used in the item.
Then label it!

Everything should charge from USB, why supply a charger when you can supply a lead. USB is pretty much everywhere from Ugly PC's to elegant Apple wall chargers.
Be careful what you plug into though, nasty things living in USB sockets were demonstrated at DefCon to great effect.
