Default Aluminium for scrap?

Does this look like aluminium do you reckon or steel? It is a reasonable sized trampoline dismantled. Might as well get a few quid for scrap rather than take it to the tip if its worth owt. Tubes about 5mm diameter.

Ah, good thinking Batman. Yep, it is magnetic so I guess that means steel!

Dunno - I'm sure if I leave it on the driveway the pikeys will have away with it! Might be simpler.

Galv steel is worth no more than normal steel as the zinc is not recoverable. It's only worth weighing in if you've got a tonne of it, leave it outside for the pikeys.

BTW, that looks like handrailing to me, are you sure it's not nearer 50mm diameter

TBH i wouldnt expect much from a bonnet, Firstly is contaminated as its been painted. then there is not a massive amount of weight to it.

not scrapped any for a while but i would guess around £800 per tonne..

Yep 50mm of course is my intention of meaning! Just missed the rag 'n' bone this morning apparently too.

Aluminium in bulk at the moment is about £900/te, most dealers around here (South Manchester) are paying about £500/te for cans & £450/te for alloy car parts.

Bulk steel is about £200/te

Bright copper on the other hand is currently hovering around the £5k mark
