Re-greasing a saw gearbox.

Re-greasing a saw gearbox.
Finally got my old mitre saw that I've bought second hand, in bits, taken the gearbox apart to find out why it was so hard to lock the blade, it was FULL of a waxy grease which was, in turn, full of sawdust. This stuff, in turn, made it impossible for the locking pin to go in it's hole.
I've cleaned it all out with degreaser, but now could do with advice on re-greasing the gearbox and bearings.
Anyone any idea what to use, and how to re-grease the bearings at the same time?
Or should I bite the bullet and install new bearings as I'm doing it?
I have some spray grease that goes on like water, penetrates, then sets like jelly, so thought of that for the bearings, but what do I put in the gearbox? ordinary grease? Or something else?

Normally its just a high temp lithium grease.. for overkill id fill the bugger full of coppa slip
Re the bearings.. are they sealed or open?
if there sealed, then unless there shagged, leave them be ..
If there open then just load them fill of coppaslip and work it in,...
Any excess will get spat out once it starts running again
