Default Harry Potter films

Been watching the box set over the last few weeks...

From a lavish eye opening first, its progressed to a bleak almost depressing finale.... (Deathly hallows pt 1) possibly helped by the way in which the films are shot

What is it with film makers at the mo, that every film has to suffer flash frame effects continiously in the name of "cinematography"

Whilst the concept my be cutting edge and stark, its bloody awfull to watch, and leaves me wondering what did they run short off when they have to resort to that.

What was the purpose of near on coulourless scenes toward the latter half of the movie?.... they may have well have posted the samaaritans number in subtitles it was that depressing... ffs they could have condensed almost all of the tent scenes into 10 minutes ...

Anyone else think that its lost some of its magic (no pun intended)

i think it actually helps the books get darker and darker as do the movies, personally think the dark mood ties in well with how the films/books get darker and more intense. they kinda grow up as do the cast and the reader/view. the last film is a belter imo

Like most films with multiple parts the films do tend to get less and less quality as they progress. it is shame really since they usuaully have more money to spend on the later ones meaning they should be better.

The last two books have a dark, brooding air about them. I think they caught that mood well in the last two films.

I have never read the books but love the films, the mood of the books/films darkens as the rise of voldamort (spelling) gets closer and he becomes stronger so think they were quite fitting. Also as the main characters get older the story lines mature.

The books are far superior to the films TBH.

I thought that too but they are very well made films. I honestly can't comment on the books as I've not read them.

My GF was like that too up until I convinced her to watch Deathly Hallows part 2 at the cinema, now she wants to watch the whole lot.

Read all the books, watched all the films. great series IMO, though the Order of the Phoenix book could have easily been halved in length. The penultimate film was too long by half an hour, easily.

Maybe I am too old, but I thought the movies were absolute tripe.
