I'm looking into getting the house glazed, anyone got recs of good companies in the Reading/Wokingham/Bracknell area (or national ones) that are any good. I'm not looking for anything fancy, nor to spend a fortune. I need 5 windows plus a back door and maybe a front door. Any ideas of no frills cost?

Would need the frames to be brown colour not white, does that command a premium?

Ignore all their price offers and let them know what you are willing to pay. After more than a week of negotiation I payed 40% of their original quote.

I was going to get double glazing saw a couple of salesmen.

The quotes they gave me were horrific (I own a 1 bed flat). But they kept coming down in price.

So I asked the question why was the first quote so high? Didn't get a suitable answer so told them I thought they were trying to con me. Said I wouldn't do business with someone who was blatently trying to rip me off!

I still have normal windows

you will not get double glazing with out hearing the crap first. The trouble is that a high %age of people do sign up after being told that this amazing price will not be available after tonight, you must sign now......

if they didnt do the patter and just let you have them for their bottom price then the bottom price would have to be higher. but because some mug pays top end you can get them cheaper- so put up with the sales pitch cause its what allows you to get them cheap.

Try B&Q warehouse i know who supplies them and their very good value for money, get a price of them before you start shopping around.
