Default Hiccups- doing my piggin head in

Monday morning woke up feeling a bit rough, no idea why.
Then suddenly had bile and felt even worse, that cleared but then the hiccups started and got a bad case of acid reflux.Thought they would go away but it is now Saturday, 5 days later and guess what ? They are still here !!!!

Been to the doctors, got some tablets but so far they have had no effect

As I was bored, I worked out how many hiccups I had over that amount of time and it works out at 53,000

Not happy

yep like this guy

The world's longest attack of hiccups lasted a total of 68 years according to the Guinness Book of Records. Charles Osborne (1894-1991) from Iowa, USA was unable to find a cure for a protracted attack of hiccups that started in 1922 and ended suddenly in February 1990. Mr Osborne died just over a year later in May 1991 having led a normal life, marrying twice and fathering 8 children.

At least the doc has checked you out Swiss as persistant hiccups can be a sign of nasty things

I wouldn't guarantee what modern GP's tell you (some of them anyhow)they will throw you a box of pills for everything..

Guy i know was going to the Docs for months complaining of Indigestion/Acid.
nothing wrong according to the local Doc having checked him over.Things didn't get better over the weeks/months so back to the Docs he kept going,Doc said nothing wrong each time, until he practically had to beg the Doc to refer him to Hospital.Go's to the Hospital and the Doc at the Hospital checks him out, listens to his heart beat.OH yes said the Hospital doc,you have an irregular heartbeat we will get you checked out.Anyhow turns out that one of the valves in his heart had stopped working, ended up having to have a heart operation to replace the valve in his heart. Here is the kick in the *** moment though. The Hospital Doc said why didn't you come to see us sooner,if you had done so we could of prevented you from having to through the operation.
Well my local GP/Doc kept on telling me nothing was wrong it was just Acid..The Hospital Docs eyes rolled and rolled with a deep breath and sigh..

If you think something is wrong go to the Hospital...

Maybe it is the acid reflux causing it. The doctor's actions are just not good enough. Something like Omaprazole might sort it-it is very good at stopping the reflux. I think you would do well to see that doctor again and be persistently annoying to him about it.

I am on that Les, that Omaprazole and something else that stops hiccups (allegedly) but was originally used to treat schizoprehics

Have you tried drinking a glass of water backwards?

I have found this method to be full proof.
Wait until you want to fart - Then as a hiccup comes , release the fart as hard as you can at precisely the same time.
If properly executed you will get immediate relief.
You will most likely need to do this a few times until the timing is perfect - But try not to **** yourself.

This has never let me down.

Glass of still water.
Get somone to push the sticky-outy bits just outside your ear hole over your ear hole (you get what i mean) to make a seal. slowly sip the water for 30-60 seconds or so. It is imporant to make a good seal to get it to work.

I have used a similar method on people. Only difference is to get them to block your ears and your nostrils. (thumb over the ears and tip of middle finger over nostrils) The hiccuper then guzzles as much water as possible (it can feel a little stifling). Always works

BANG!

Nope? Try 17 pints of lager, then, and let us know whether you're still bothered by the hiccups

It would have been a complete nightmare! Glad you waited until now! Wonder what's causing them though. I guess you've tried all of the normal crap. I usually stand on my head if I can't get rid of them and that's never failed.

big glass of water, get on your knees, stick one finger in each ear get your mrs to hold your nose and pour the water while you drink without taking a breath until you can't continue.

Follow to the letter and hey presto gone.
