Surprised there's not a thread about it ....

Anybody watched/watching Geordie SHore?

Don't normally watch this kind of crap but caught a glimpse of it and some of the stuff the 'contestants' were saying was like playground stuff - boasting about their manhoods, sh1tty put-downs etc - seems like a bit of a laugh !

Apparently the Geordies have been complaining saying that the programme is misrepresenting them

It was embarrassing to watch tbh. They were all complete idiots, but I suppose following a group of normal people about would make for boring TV.

Lad who works here knows the fat lass on the show. She is from Middlesbrough (Ingleby Barwick) so not quite sure why she's on "Geordie" shores?

Quite probably, but no idea personally. I don't usually watch this sort of TV, but as it was about 'Geordies', I thought I'd give it a go. Truthfully, I never expected it to show us in a good light.

Brilliant tv. All the wannabe Cheryl Coles.lol and the guys pumping anything that moves. All we need now are subtitles to understand them. Now if you want to see real sh*t life you should watch the sheme. Defo need subtitles though.

This is meant to be an English version of Jersey Shore (its US predecessor). It's absolute trash TV, but because it's trash it's compelling viewing and very addictive!

I haven't had the chance to watch it yet, BUT, I have watched all 3 seasons of Jersey Shore. The American reality show that this has been coined from.

To give an example of how popular the US show is, each 'cast' member is getting paid £100,000 each per episode for the up and coming fourth season!!

If the UK version is anything like the US one, it's possibly a bunch of fake baked slags, getting pissed and mouthing off.
It's stupidly embaressing to be honest, but it's addictive.

You got it in one! They have also tried to base the Geordie "characters" on their Jersey Shore counterparts. I don't think these English numpties will see quite as much dollar though.

This is the problem with these programs. Many of the youngsters that watch this cobblers will see these people as role models - the very same people who see Katie Price as a role model.

My wife has a cousin who worships "The Pricey" - her very own words - she's a real life cringe fest! Being in the hair trade she has many of the WAG type wannabes in the salon.

The boys were doing the whole gym/tan thing in the first episode. It took a series of Jersey Shore for such colloquialisms to be established, so I'm sure they'll get there in Geordie shore too.

I watched the 1st show and was laughing at the fact three of the girls slept with someone In the house, Give it a week or two and the arguments will be mint . The UK cast are not as nice a set of people as the USA cast IM0.
