Skybox dead :-(
Our lass phoned me at work last night and said "sky box is dead there's no power to it " so I told her I would have a look when I got home, looked and no good, cable is fine so it must be the box, Sky want £65 call out fee and coul be three days wait !! FFS
They should have an engineer at the end of my street just waiting for such disasters

That is unfortunate mate. Mine went **** up last year and by signing on for another year I got a brand new 250gb hdbox for £15 fitted and when the guy came to do it he put in a new dish as well. Result!

I would ring up to cancel Sky since it has stopped working. See what they say then, you will no doubt be offered a new box on a new contract.
Its not as if Sky are short of a penny or two, they do charge a lot for their service, and if others can get a free box on a new contract it only seems fair if you get one too

Ours is on its last legs. I replaced the power supply and hard drive at christmas and it worked fine. Now though its conking out now and again and only records one channel.
Cheaper to get a new box off ebay and get them to key your card to the new box. New hd boxes are about fifty bucks off feebay.
