Surprised there hasn't been a thread on this?
Especially since this dossier changed world history in quite a way.

Of course Blair would have been the main instigator - in my view having promised Bush that we would be there with him.
Campbell - arrogant lying streak of unelected p,iss

I just wish Campbell could be taken to task for this because it is a really serious matter and it is simply not enough for him to say he has "no further comment".
And by implication Blair was guilty of misleading the House as he must have known the dossier did not reflect the true facts.

Thanks for that which is really very interesting. I had forgotten about the Today connection.

I wish somone in this country would get hold of politicians and the press, the two most corrupt and despicable groups of people in the land and make them properly accountable for their actions!
The whole Iraq thing stinks to high heaven. I just wish they would have been more honest about the whole affair. They could easily have done what they did without lying at all.
Mystery of the helicopter that landed at scene of Dr Kelly's death after his body was found
Hopefully, one day, the truth will be revealed and those who have been lurking in the shadows will be convicted and punished!!!

Kelly was probably murdered on Blairs instructions.
I think the truth will come out one day as too many people were involved. Why else was so much evidence suppressed? Still no inquest, which apparently is a legal requirement.

From the Beeb:
Excerpt from http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13371751
A senior ex-intelligence official has disputed Alastair Campbell's evidence about a dossier which outlined the threat posed by Saddam Hussein.
Tony Blair's ex-spokesman told the Iraq inquiry last year the September 2002 document was designed to set out UK concerns, not "make the case for war".
But Michael Laurie said those producing it "saw it exactly as that and that was the direction we were given".
So why didn't Major-General Laurie come out with this information before we went to war? Could the Iraq invasion been avoided if he had?

I guess the MoD guys wanted to keep their jobs and no one had the ***** to step up to the politicians. If Blair had told the truth it is doubtful if he could have got approval in the House which would have left USA on its own and Blair in the s,hit with Bush. dl

I take your point about wanting to keep their jobs, but I hope if I'd been privy to that info I would have had no choice but to speak up. So why come up with the info now?
