Best Moutain Bike for Under £300
Anyone got any recommendations, I have been looking at the Specialized Hardrock range, I don’t want to spend more than £300 and would like front shocks that this bike offers.
Daz.
P.S: Might learn to spell Mountain today as well.

Just bought a Hardrock Comp myself. Went for another Specialized cos my current bike (Rockhopper, now 14 years old
) has lasted so long and so well and Specialized still seem to make very good frames - I'm going to upgrade bits one at a time so I wasn't too bothered about their spec, but they're not too shabby to start with for the price. For lots of reviews check out mtbreview.com
Cheers, Peter.

I think you'll be hard pushed to buy a better bike at that kind of money.
Good thing about the Spesh is that all the bits are easily upgradeable in the future.

Paul I thought about that but they are offering 12 months interest free credit and free servicing for 12 months and a 3 year guarantee on all parts.
In the end when I got to the shop they had screwed up and sold the bike I was buying to someone else so I ended up with a red bike same spec, they then put a tiny scratch on the frame building it and knocked more money off so I got a bargain.

Have a look at the Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative They do some excellent kit all available via online ordering and delivered to your door. I've got one of their own brand 'Cuillin' bikes and it cost under £300. The Cuillin range is great, as you get good quality components without paying over the top for big name frames (quality is still very good though). Do a comparison on bike specs from other suppliers at similar prices and you'll see what I mean.
