Default Gay guys kicked out a pub for kissing

I can only think of Soho, Brighton and possibly some parts of Manchester where gay people could organise a protest on getting kicked out a pub for kissing. If it happened in Glasgow or most other parts I'm sure it would kick off into a street battle.

The Landlord was probably committing a criminal offence in that he can throw out who he likes but not on the grounds of sexual orientation.

I'll make no further comment

I am fairly pro gay rights but to be honest I dont want to see anyone snogging in a pub, there was a couple in the cinema when I was in Brighton last week, they were a straight couple (surprisingly given the area) and it made me uncomfortable sat behind them (really spoilt my **** )

So, really, the last thing Gay rights needs is gay men openly getting intimate in a pub and then protesting about it, the landlord had every right to kick them out, I beleive "Get a room" is the phrase.

My thoughts exactly. (Refers to J4CKO's post, not DYK's ), Gays now have many, many rights, probably more than us heteros.

So WHY do they still feel the need for gay rights marches and stuff like this?

I don't need a hetero rights march, are they so unsure of their sexuality they need a march to prove it?

The modern western state seems to encourage people to club together and call themselves a special group...collective victims...who therefore deserve special rights in compensation.

Even Scottish/Welsh devolution was a manifestation of this.

I would not enjoy seeing a heterosexual couple having a kissing session in a pub and the same goes for a pair of homosexuals. I don't blame the owner of the pub.

Anyone can go into a gay pub. You might not want to but you can. I've been in a few bars on Canal Street with my wife and her friends in Manchester and they are much more relaxed places that the Townie bars in Piccadilly. I didn't use the toilets though!

Made me laugh!

I went to a gay pub once & a guy came up to me at the bar & said
'You're new in here,arn't you?'
I said 'Yes,how did you know that?'
He replied 'You've got your foot on our hand rail'

I don't think it's that modern an issue. Some people would argue the jews were probably the first to form themselves into this special group of 'victims'

Well they formed maybe the first collectivism, but the 'groups' you hear of nowadays are only 'groups' because the light of the state shines on them making them so. Not sure what you mean by 'victims' BTW. Judaism was a religious collective.

Nobody granted the Jews special rights under the hegemony of the state, they were not 'owned' by the state like modern 'groups' are.

1)Probably the same thing as you meant by victims?

2) Nobody has granted homosexuals 'special rights'. My understanding is that 'they' have been fighting for equal rights in the eyes of the state and legal system.
Nobody granted Jews special rights, they granted it to themselves by self proclaiming themselves as the 'chosen people' in ancient times.
The state of Israel now seems to have given itself special rights in that it believes it is above international law

No. Gay rights etc are granted by the state, they have been awarded not taken. Israel's right of existence has been earned with the gun. Nobody owns Israel.

Tell me...would 'gays' identify as a special social group if gay rights were not available to be granted?

Yes, by the read of the news.

I'll make no further comment

I will.

If a kiss (or a snog) exchange in a pub between a man and a woman is digestable (whether one likes it or not), why can't one tolerate a kiss (or even a snog) exchange between two male gay partners?? If one can't, then one is discriminating against gays IMO.

As far as i'm concerned two less blokes chasing ***** that i'm after.

who cares what they do as long as they don't try and bash my back door let them get on with it.
Besides most of them are quite good looking chaps and it just means more ***** for the hetro guys.

Go for it guys bums away.

This guy struck me as a bit of a d*ck tbh. Listened to him on the radio yesterday and he was pretty antagonising. Have to agree with Jer, he would get thrown out on his **** up here. So glad I live where I do and not amongst these guardian reading losers.

Not so sure about gay rights... would prefer universal rights. Gay rights to me means privileges. What did this guy expect? Ok, so they should be treated equality, but there is something about two guys kissing that is still quite surprising. That's just part of the world we live in at the mo. Maybe in the future our culture will change; but where you have the vast majority of people straight, it will always make people uncomfortable. That's not discrimination, it's just a natural reaction.

I would never even 'snog' a girl in an environment like that. A bit of a kiss to show affection, yeah - tongue down throat, no.

Lots of ******* are exhibitionists and do stuff like that just to shock and provoke a reaction, screaming queens being a prime example.

If your a woman trapped in a mans body you would not feel the need to run around like a raving banshee pro claiming your femininity.
It's a mans interpretation of what he thinks a woman is and acts like.

I've been around more than my fair share of women and also have 5 sisters and iv'e never met a woman that acts like a screaming queen.
except the ones im giving multiple orgasms to
