Default gone at 28

last thursday my 28 year old sister died from a blood clot on her lung that caused a valve in her heart to fail.as you can imagine myself and my family are in a mess, she leaves a 12 yr old daughter and a 6 yr old boy behind aswell. this has all come around from a knee op 5 weeks ago of witch she was recovering from well but last week things changed.she was waking with blood on her pillow from nose bleeds and was also coughing up blood too, swelling in her legs and abdomin.now here is were im very angry.she went to see a doctor on the monday and all he said was ill get you booked in for a camera and left it there. surly after a op they should be more helpful and look for probs like blood clots. my sister was such a lovely girl and a perfect mother, never drank or smoked and didnt have a bad bone in her body and now we have to suffer from the ignorence of a very well paid doc who should be more then able to find this problem.
im sorry for my rant but im very angry and frustrated at this and i really want all that read this to see my pain so you in turn will hopefully avoid this problem with yourselves, family, friends and help others see the dangers of blood clots. one over site has caused so much hurt and pain so plz dont let it happen to you.

Steve, I am so sorry for your loss. Losing someone so young and suddenly is devastating for you and your family. You are right to be angry and want answers to what went wrong. Just give yourself some time to grieve for your lovely sister and take things from there. She will never be forgotten and will live on in 2 gorgeous children. Be there for them as they'll need the support of their uncle to get through this.

Clare

Sorry to hear of your loss Steve . Anger is a natural part of the grief process but you need to strong for your Nephew and Niece right now.

My Dad died of a aortic aneurysm 3 days before he was due in for a scan, at first I was extemely angry that he was not seen sooner and that the medics could not save him. It was only after we found out that he had a weakness in his aortic valve, it could have gone at any time, his illness and the fact he was not taking his medication caused the clot that pushed him over the edge.

My thought are with your family

I'm so sorry, nothing I can say will be able to help much, but just don't hold back or you will end up cracking when you least expect it

When you feel sad, cry.
When you feel angry, find a way to let it out.

But don't shut people out. I have just recently lost my dad, and it seems the best thing to put a brave face on, but honestly, that worries people more!

Just keep your chin up the best you can, and take comfort in knowing there are some right softies here who can offer good support.

Desperately sad news and the circumstances would anger me as well. I was with my wife when she lost her only sister at the same age (big C) many years ago so we have a real empathy with you and your family. It knocks you down in a big way.

If it's of any small comfort we still talk about her sister and laugh at some of the things we did together when she was around. But, as said, hold onto things for the kids as I am sure you will. atb, d

I am really very sorry that happened. That doctor should have a heavy conscience for his lack of care.

My father went the same way, the specialist made an incorrect diagnosis despite being told by the family that his symptoms were quite different as we well knew from our much deeper knowledge. What we said was ignored, in fact my sister was effectively told to wind her neck in! He died that night when he could have been saved by clotbuster drugs. He was a very fit man for his age.

The specialist admitted his diagnosis was wrong but effectively just shrugged his shoulders!

I can well understand your grief and feelings about what happened.

Les

May she rest in peace

i thank you all from the bottom of my heart i really wasnt expecting such a response.ive spoken to my family today and helped them as much as i can. sadly being an ex marine i still find it hard to let myself go and maybe im setting myself up for a big hurt but i just cant let it out yet.as for the anger its something very deep inside thats hard to describe but its not a violent anger more emotional.
i feel so sorry for those of you that have lost someone like me i can only say i feel your pain as you do mine.since her death the doctors have messed us about with her medical records and we cant get her body released untill they pull there fingers out and let the coroner have them.at the mo there is to be a full investigation so i hope this will give me some answers.
again thank you so much
steve
