Default When do girls stop growing

At what age do girls stop growing?? I think my daughter is getting pissed off as she presumed she would be taller? She is 12years old and is 5ft 3" but has started to worry she wont get any taller.

She was the tallest in her year up to about 10 years old now her friends as just shooting past. I personally don't want her to be taller than her mother wich is 5ft 7" as I think thats a good hight for a woman?

So does she have many more years to grow??

I believe girls at 18 and boys at about 21.

At her age she should start to grow to her final height. It,s at puberty they grow the most as I've been told

Think genes dictate what her height would be, so would probably be a mix between her biological father and mother, not what people consider a "good height" for a girl If you're tall, she's going to be taller than her mum.

BTW, my daughter is 12 (in year 7) and is a right short ****. We think she's going to have a growth spurt soon as I'm 5' 7" and her dad is 6' 2".

Slightly off topic, (and probably something I've missed or don't get) but you've spelt "Modaretor" wrong ..

I reached 5ft 9 at 17 then stopped but I think they usually say girls stop at late teens early twenties

It's a popular height for ladies, though not the average which is about 5' 5" I think.....

Average height for females is 5'4". Genes and diet are the two contributing factors. Tall parents who feed their kids crap food may give a shorter result than short parents whom feed their kid well, relative to the genetic starting point in each case.

Girls stop growing at 18, boys at 21.

Throughout their lives, growth spurts occur, and then stop, for no apparent reason.

Lee, so you thnk your daughter will grow more? I know my daughter is a bit too young to think what hieght she will be but I know friends whose daughters have been small and have never grown at all. They are about 14 years old now and about 5ft. My daughter always said she would be taller than me but I would hope not as I think thats too tall for girls ?

She will be as tall as she ends up being, there is not point in her worrying about it after all it will make her who she is in the end

I'm not worrying as she has always said she would be tall but she hasn't grown in ages so I'm curious at what age girls stop growing

I think she is still growing, albeit slowly, not in spurts like when she was younger. I can tell by her jeans, and no, I am not shrinking them in the wash
Your daughter is an excellent height for her age.

It's unlikely that she'll be as tall as you unless your wife is taller. There's no perfect height for women it seems, different people prefer different heights that's all.

I imagine she still has a few years left yet.

Height, hips and ***** all start to finalise around 16-18 so she still might get a bit taller.

I used to be a teeny thing when I was younger, by the time I finished secondary school I was the tallest girl for a few years.
I'm 5ft 10.

Still love my heels though

The key point to remember is that once a girl is married, she will continue to grow.

This is, however, usually restricted to width.

Not true!

Almost into my 10 year anniversary and even after two children I am slimmer now than when we met.

We were given a formula (I think in the official red child development book that monitors baby weights, heights mid wife visits) that shows the likely height given the parents heights and no other health issues.

We used it on our kids and we able to estimate their adult heights. But they've a long way to go yet (6 and 9 yrs old).

Edit
I think it was this...

* Add the mother's height and the father's height in either inches or centimeters.
* Add 5 inches (13 centimeters) for boys or subtract 5 inches (13 centimeters) for girls.
* Divide by two.

Using that my two will be 6 ft (son) and 5 ft 8 (daughter).
