Default Wedding music.......suggestions please !!

Ladies & Gents,

As some of you know, I have finally been beaten into submission and have agreed to the shackles of marriage later on this year. The Mrs has tasked me with choosing 5 personal songs that the DJ will play on my behalf.

However, the Mrs would describe my taste in music as 'depressing' and has warned me against choosing the songs that ARE actually personal to me (we) lol and so alas, I am stuck for ideas.

Ideally these would be songs to get people up and on the dancefloor, so my question is which songs did YOU choose that went down a storm? Just need some ideas and any suggestions would be appreciated

The only one I am considering at the moment is Reef - Place your hands..............

Tbh, i think the DJ will have the best idea of what people will dance to, than us!

We had a small group than sang to back-up music(NOT a karaoke) and we let them pretty much do whatever they wanted...they only do weddings. I made sure they played a CD with the first dance on it though.

Bon jovi - "you give love a bad name"

Kanye west - " Gold Digger"

go with some songs that were around when you were going out, no point playing some songs that are irrelevant to you.

Other than the 5 songs, the DJ will have free reign

We have completely different taste in music so it really is my choice. I would be happy with some great songs that will get people to the dancefloor, modern or old, doesn't matter

We have the same problem later this year. The Mrs to be and I differ sooooooooo much on music it is unreal. She hates all my taste and I seriously think she needs to be sectioned with some of the pap she listens to. We are at, what I believe is termed, an impasse

So no advice from me I am afraid but I wish you all the best

We had our DJ end the night with Robbie williams - Angels, had everyone left at the party on the dancefloor in a big circle singing at the top of thier voices, memorable for me anyways.

Having played at many a wedding in a covers band over the years (for my sins) I can assure you that any of the following will fill a dancefloor pretty quick

Take your mamma - Scissor sisters
hard to handle- Black crows
Alright now - free
She drives me crazy - fine young cannibals
Rocks - primal scream
Little bird - Annie Lennox
Atomic - blondie
Crazy - gnarls Barkley
But I feel good - groove armada
If everybody looked the same - groove armada
Need you tonight - INXS
I gotta feeling - black eyed peas
Rain - the cult
Superstition - stevie wonder
