Default Best material for a new kitchen sink?

Astracast, Ceramic, or stainless steel?

Here are my thoughts:
Astracast, looks nice, stays warm, (keeps water hot), more difficult to clean and CAN stain. Cracks if anything heavy is dropped on it.

Ceramic, looks good, won't stain UNLESS chipped/cracked, THEN watch out! but can chip/crack.

Stainless, pretty much bomb-proof, but can be hard to get clean and prone to scratching. Flexible in use, meaning seals can end up needing replaced.

we've just got rid of a manky plastic kitchen sink.

We chose a new worktop with a stainless undermounted sink, looks pretty cool.

We have always found stainless to be as good all round as any.

If I was fitting a sink from new, I'd probably get stainless steel, then fill some of the gaps in the underside with fiberglass and resin to stop it from flexing. Best of both worlds then.

I've recently fitted a black Carron Phoenix Granite sink, very tough, scratch resistant and stylish.

currently looking at one of these http://www.wickes.co.uk/Asterite-15-...nk/invt/193095 our previous white one (astacast/lite/whatever) has lasted 14 years and has worn well but the tap unit is fooked and the fittings rusted in so though we would change them both rather than **** around.
If it is not great then likely move it to the utility and get a better one for the kitchen.

Paul, before buying, Google the name and "buy". I did it for the one I'm interested in and found it at £109 delivered, whereas Wickes wanted £125 and me to fetch it.
Also found that it comes in five colours, three materials, whereas Wickes have TWO colours, one finish.

I wanted one of these: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S69847478
Mainly because I think ceramic ones look good, also being full depth saves wasting worksurface, plus Ikea is cheap! However, that one sit on top of the adjacent work surface, rather than being built-under. Seems pretty daft to me as you then can't have grooves in your (granite or solid wood) worksurface to drain into the sink, unless I'm missing something?

I've never been a fan of under-fit sinks, there is ALWAYS a groove under the worktop and above the sink, which is difficult to keep clean.

A surprisingly reasonable £280, it's not solid granite, it's a composite material and tough as old boots.
