Default Vodafone Network Down?

On O2 myself but a lot of people at work on Vodafone have had no signal all morning. Not just local either it seems.

Sounds like some failed maintenance from what I heard so far.

Their main Data Centre in Basingstoke is currently down therefore impacting many services on the Vodafone network including:

• Sending and receiving SMS Text messages
• Making and receiving phone calls including calling voicemail
• Establishing data connections

So there is no resilience in their network - this is very bad news.

Just think of all the mistresses who will no be sending and receiving those crucial sext messages of lust from each other

There is resilience in there but not when someone steals an entire MSC as this is probably the reason they cant fix it quickly (though im only guessing thats the problem but it seems the most viable reason) but all mobile companies use the same sort of intrastructure, even though it could be different makes of equipment, though there should be enough mixed coverage of 2/3G to still cover an area.

No there really is not. I'm from Newbury, and more or less everyone i know works or has worked at the world HQ in Newbury, they actually own about 50 buildings in the town.......the sh1te that occurs inside those closed doors will make your toes curl.......

However remember when Michael Schumacher and Rubens drove for Ferrari and Vodafone sponsered them.......my buddies were at work, got a message over the tannoy "anyone wishing to meeting MSC and Rubens B should proceed to the main lobby", and there they were with the Ferrari, answered questions signed some freebies and got in their helicopters.....great perks in my books!!!

This suggests the perps were pretty well clued up, so makes you wonder if there's a market for this stuff.

Normal service resumed around 3pm, btw.
