This is going to sound pathetic, but I always make cards for these occasions. Especially fathers day, as I just like to add the personal touch.
Also it gives the card companies the finger.

Same with my Mrs Kat. She tends to get supplies from an art shop when I do and makes a lot of cards. Our families look forwards to a nice handmade card with a bit of thought in it over some pricey glossy crap from a card shop. That and I write all sorts of crap in them makes them interesting and not the usual boring "love such and such".

It's 4 years today since me and the Mrs got engaged so we don't really need cards for this. I'm not gonna get any 'cos she's to big now anyways, so we're buying a baby mattress from Toys'r'us instead
