Anyone got a Hungarian Vizsla?
Anyone on here either got or have had a Hungarian Vizsla dog? Im looking at getting one, always had boxers but the last two had cancer and as this is common in the breed cant bring myself to go through the pain again. Ive got kids the youngest is 6 and they have all been brought up with dogs. All Ive read about Vizslas seems good, they seem to have a good bill of health and are family orientated, but Id like to see if anyone has had any personal experiences with them?

A friend has one, Chester. Lovely lad, full of energy, likes to eat remote controls lol.
But seriously they are delighted with him, and are looking to get a bitch too at some point.
They go on group walks etc. From what I know they did their research and found the breed to be a good healthy one. Some good breeders out there too.

The popularity has soared since one won Crafts recently. Do your homework when selecting a breeder and go to shows to see them - that way you'll get am idea for what you like.
And take your time. I've spent a year researching my perfect Newfoundland.

Lovely dogs, and I do have a soft spot for them. As said by others, do lots of research and select a good breeder, perhaps have a look here. Make sure you're not getting one from a puppy farm. Speak to the breeder and go and visit the pups, and ask to see mum too.
Don't be surprised if the breeder decides to come and visit you. They will be checking to make sure you are a good fit for one of their pups.
If and when we supplement our lovely lab, it will probably be either a vizzy or a weim, seriously hard to choose between the two, would dearly love to have my own little maggie *sniff*. Vizzy's are smaller than Weims and perhaps a tiny bit less manic.
From what I know they have a great temperament and do make rather good family pets. They will need a fair bit of exercise though.
