Default Phone Line, Broadband and Sky Deals?

I'm trying to save some money on my outgoings, and want to change my phone line, broadband and sky package really.

I currently pay £22.50/month Sky, £13.30/month Line rental, and £19.77/month Internet.

So a total of £666.84

Unfortunately I cannot get the cheap Sky bundles, or Virgin where I live.....

TalkTalk are the only company in our exchange to upgrade something, so they can deliver faster broadband, than the usual 8Meg.

I don't download a lot, so doubt I would need more than 10Gb/month.

Any recommendation guys?

Honestly? Stay with Sky.

The problem starts when changing the telephone line. Sky will probably OWN the line, and TalkTalk need it to be a BT line. Also, Sky will discount your bill for you taking all 3 items.

I checked it out as i could get Orange BB for £7.50 a month, but as it isn't a BT line i have the extra i'd be saving was put elsewhere and on checking my BB with Sky, it was only £3 i'd have been saving anyway.

Math Lesson for what? I'm sure it adds up to £666.84 a year?!

I did't word my first post too well actually (early, and tired)

Sky is just TV
Phone Line is BT
Internet is Vispa

As I can't get virgin, the TV will have to stay with sky, but is it worth changing everything to sky, or say just the phone line and internet to talk talk or someone else?

lordharding.......Good thinking that actually!! Would have never thought of trying that.

I would change the whole lot over to Sky personally. We're paying £10 a month for the broadband, it's the unlimited upto 20 meg (sure it only costs £7.50 now, but I haven't had the chance to sort that out). I think the line rental is about £11 a month, so you'll save a little chunk on what you are paying now.

In my opinion I certainly wouldn't move to TalkTalk. They and AOL are one in the same now, and we had nothing but problems with them. Nothing wrong phone wise, but internet.....was shocking along with their customer service. Obviously I am only speaking from personal experience, other people may disagree.

It can be worth using the 'I'm going to leave' line, you might get some sort of deal out of it, and you'll not lose anything by trying.

I pay Sky £26 per month for TV & Broadband
Then £9.97 per month to 24talk which includes line rental and free evenings and weekends.

Sky will discount you basic broadband if you take on sky talk, so potentially you coud get it all for £32 from sky.

Why sack Sky its ****, Telephone line through most suppliers the rental only goes to BT anyway.

Speak to BT get the £30 freeview vision box as that will allow you to record TV progs like sky+

Speak to BT about phone and broadband as we only pay £16 per month for the unlimited option 3 not sure if they have changed the package name) againt the usual £25 per month for the BB...the line rental would need to be with BT for BB with them.

We have the free evening and weekend calls only as we don't use the phone that much.

At the end of the day its about negotiating the best deal possible

I got stung with this last year, but it is actually the other way around. TalkTalk own their lines if you combine talk/broadband and it then takes about 3-weeks for companies to repatch the line to your house. SKY use the BT line.

move all to sky
I dont have sky tv, but with a bt line with free calls upto an hour nationally I was paying over £30 per month (probably £35+), then £18 per month for BE unlimited broadband (which is a good provider) Switched the line to sky, same sort of package as bt but bills including broadband are about £32 per month so saving a few hundred per year.

As above sky use the bt line, but connect it to their equipment at the exchange

Not any more mate.

BT have nothing to do with the Sky telephone line. This changed only a few months ago.
