I just loved the fact that they were completely surprised and taken aback (as you would be!, I suppose).
Fair play to her - although another time, I'd fully expect the scum to stab her to death (such are the times we live in.

Not detracting from the what the lady did in ANY way (as it really was incredibly brave) but the sheer shock factor worked greatly in her favour; that coupled with the deeply ingrained "you can't hit little old ladies" ethic meant the robbers reacted accordingly.
If some burly bloke had tried the same thing, he would've got a sledgehammer in his head.
It was a little unfair of the reporters to sneer slightly at the "brave witnesses" - it's easy to say we would help when we're not there, but to actually do it? Well....
Still - huge kudos to her, it could only have been funnier if she actually smacked one in the nuts

And she floored the moped rider too
He would have been my first target.........I hate moped riders. So any valid excuse to kick one off their bike would be swiftly accepted.
Thats the beauty of handbangs, can be kept at arms length to avoid being stabbed. Hmm, maybe I should get a "man bag"

I know it's wrong to prejudice - but hey, this IS SN after all.
... I hate 'em with a passion. They look such cvnts trying to maintain their speed and latching on to your rear bumper through town/traffic for all their worth! 
The 'awkward' design of said machines just makes the person riding them look a total muppet IMHO. Tw@ts.

Didn't you know, they have a rope with a little hook attached. They latch it onto your bumper when you aren't looking and hitch a ride. Makes them look like they are going fast
