Missed it tonight but was it as bad as "The Deep" that submarine thing with Minnie Driver and James Nesbitt? BBC don't tend to do macho stuff very well in my opinion though Outcasts is written by the same fella who writes Spooks which is actually watchable.

It was OK. I'll watch the rest for sure.
I would ask what do you expect? Avatar? At least the BBC are making an effort. All you get on ITV is just re-gurgitated crime drama.
Shame Jamie Bamber (Lee Adama, BSG) wasn't in it for longer - was odd hearing him with an english accent.

The BBC airs alot of things that we watch and like even though the premise is either boring, obvious or just too clever for its own good (Spooks, Hustle, Holby)
It was either that or Star**** Troopers 3 and even with a budget far in excess of Outcasts it looked horrific.
I did think that with Lee Adama in it it might lend some gravity to the series yet they killed him in the first ep.
Also, the only true SciFi series in the states to every get to finish the story is Battlestar Galactica. Caprica got binned, Stargate Universe got binned, Fringe which isn't really spacey SciFi has been moved to Friday night death slot so expect one more series then good night.
Stilover and Jamz3k are notoriously hard to please

SciFi programmes have been absolutely ruined for me because of Battlestar Galactica, it was just too damn good for a sci-fj series. Everything else before and after has just been a bit **** in comparison.
I don't think budget can be blamed for the disaster I watched last night too, the sets were good but it was the same old bollocks actors that the BBC use over and over again.

Boring and formulaic. Looks like another 'Lord of the Flies' tale with a hint of Star Trek thrown in. South Africa looks nice though, almost worth getting car-jacked and raped at knife-point before being machete'd to pieces and burnt to see those views.
